GRAPHIC DESIGN IS A SKILL

Unless you are a graphic designer or have good skills in this area you should not do this yourself. Yes there are lots of software graphic design packages available now but just becuse it is complterized does not mean that you have the ability. 

It is a hard thing to do and should usually be left to an expert. But there are alternatives. You can spend a great deal or you can spend small but remember you get what you pay for. I have bee involved in brand building where it was nothing to spend up to $100,000 on the logo and then the same amunt in reserach to make sure you have the right one.

Obviously when starting a blogg we do not have that sort of cash but one good method is the online outsourcing sites such as Fiverr.com.
